South Central Rural holds annual meeting

South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative’s annual meeting was held Oct. 6 at the Cave City Convention Center with an extremely large crowd in attendance.

The results of the mail ballot trustee election were announced with Ralph Thompson reelected in District I (Munfordville and Bonnieville) with no opposition. In District III (Hiseville and Cave City Exchanges) candidates were Incumbent Trustee Jerry Polson, and Mike Houchens, with Polson receiving 738 votes and Houchens 275 votes. Polson was declared reelected.

During the business session, the Cooperative's secretary-treasurer, Ralph Thompson reported on the Cooperative's positive financial status.

Interim General Manager Chris Lawrence reported on the growth of the Coop with more than 30,000 phone access lines, more than 19,000 digital video customers and more than 15,000 high speed internet (DSL) customers.  Board Chairman Charles Knight announced the Board's decision to refund $2 million in patronage capital credits this year.

At the Board's annual re-organizational meeting, Charles Knight was reelected as president; Charles L. Stinson was elected as vice president; Thompson reelected as secretary-treasurer; and Polson was elected as assistant secretary-treasurer.
