A parade, classic car cruise-in, tractor pull and plenty of music are highlights of this year’s Sonora Days Festival.

The festival, set for Friday through Sunday, selected the theme Music on Main. It’s sponsored by Sonora Merchants Inc.

Friday night, there will be a street dance, cruise-in, beauty and children’s pageants and food and craft vendors. The pageants are open to all.

Bring a lawn chair to enjoy the country music performed at 8 p.m. at Cardin’s Pro-Lix.

On Saturday, a 5K run will be held at Sonora Baptist Church. Proceeds from the run will benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children in honor of the Sonora Fire Department.

The parade lineup is at Creekside Elementary School at 8:30 a.m. with the parade beginning at 10 a.m. Parade participants may pick up their parade forms at Slim & Trim Fitness or by calling 949-2199.

Throughout the day Saturday there will a silent auction, horseshoe tournament, cornhole tournament, baby contests, Sonora Idol, midway games, inflatables, pedal pull and back seat driver contest. A tractor pull, coordinated by Mid-Kentucky Pullers, a battle of the bands and a free concert with Glen Rice and Friends will be held.

Baby contests are limited to Sonora residents. Admission will be charged to the tractor pull. Entry fees apply to the battle of the bands, cornhole tournament and pedal pull.

At 1 p.m. Sunday, the annual 40-and-older co-ed softball game will be held at the Sonora Fish and Game Ballpark. Sonora has challenged Upton to a grudge match. There is no fee to play.
