Sophomore Kayla Skaggs struck out seven and the visiting Lady Hawks continued to swing hot bats April 19 as they had 12 hits to rout the Lady Colonels, 11-1.
Skaggs (3-4) scattered five hits, one walk and one earned run in seven innings.
Freshman Peyton Gardner was a home run shy of the cycle and had three RBIs and two runs, while senior Lyndsay Whitlock went 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs, two stolen bases and an RBI. Senior Valerie Whitlock went 3-for-5 two stolen bases and a run.
LARUE COUNTY 4, TAYLOR COUNTY 3.
Senior Lyndsay Whitlock went 3-for-4 with a double, stole four bases, scored twice and drove in two as the Lady Hawks held on for a 4-3 win April 21 against the Lady Cardinals.
Freshman Courtney Johnson went 2-for-4 and drove in two, while senior Valerie Whitlock went 2-for-4, stole a base and scored.
Freshman Bridgette Skaggs (6-3) struck out three, walked two and gave up seven hits, but limited Taylor County to one earned run.
ADAIR COUNTY 6, LARUE COUNTY 5.
The visiting Lady Indians scored the winning run in the top of the seventh and took advantage of five errors by the Lady Hawks April 28.
Gardner had a single, double and three RBIs, while senior Valerie Whitlock with 3-for-4.
Bridgette Skaggs allowed eight hits, five earned runs and two walks in seven innings. She struck out four.
PRP INVITATIONAL
The Lady Hawks lost to Ballard 2-13 April 30 in six innings in the PRP Invitational. The Ladies lost 2-7 to Holy Cross later that day. The tourney was held at Pleasure Ridge Park.
