18TH DISTRICT BOYS' SOCCER TOURNAMENT AT MARION COUNTY. The fourth-seeded Taylor County Cardinals (4-16, 3-3) meet the fifth-seeded Hart County Raiders (1-10-1, 1-5) in tonight’s quarterfinal at 6. Taylor County beat the visiting Raiders on Aug. 23, 1-0 as sophomore Jordan Nicholas scored off a pass from senior Justin Smith.

The quarterfinal winner meets the top-seeded Marion County Knights (11-9, 5-0) in Tuesday night’s early semifinal at 6. The Knights beat both teams at home in an eight-day span, knocking off the Raiders 3-0 on Sept. 20 and the Cardinals 5-0 on Sept. 27.

Tuesday night’s late semifinal at 8 pits the second-seeded LaRue County Hawks (14-4, 6-1) against the third-seeded Campbellsville Eagles (3-13, 3-9) in what will be the teams’ fifth meeting of the year. LaRue County is 4-0 against Campbellsville this season, winning Aug. 13 (8-2 at home), Aug. 20 (7-1 on the road), Sept. 18 (10-3 at home) and Sept. 27 (9-3 on the road).

LaRue County senior Marshall Metcalf had a combined 14 assists and two goals in those games, while senior Alex Cook had 13 goals and two assists. Senior Ricardo Collado had eight assists and five goals and senior Mason Morgan had three goals and two assists.

A win Tuesday would send the Hawks to the region tournament for the first time in the program’s six-year history.

The final is 8 p.m. Thursday.
