The April 13 forum for LaRue County Sheriff candidates gave two of the three contenders a chance to speak before an audience of about 100 at the LaRue County Courthouse.
Incumbent Sheriff Bobby Shoffner, a Democrat, was unable to attend as he sustained an on-the-job injury earlier in the day.
Shoffner said he tripped over something in the department’s storage room and hit his head. A family member transported him to Hardin Memorial Hospital where 12 stitches where required to close the gash on his forehead.
