A Shepherdsville man faces numerous counts after what began as a routine traffic stop on April 6.
Darin J. Wright, 37, was driving a vehicle with one headlight and rear license not illuminated near the intersection of Lincoln Parkway and South Lincoln Boulevard, according to Hodgenville Officer Brandon Casey.
When the officer signaled for him to stop, Wright allegedly presented a license belonging to another man.
According to the citation, the officer found a baggie of what he believed to be drugs inside the car. He said Wright attempted to place the baggie under the car.
Wright was charged with one headlight, rear license not illuminated, giving officer a false name or address, operating on suspended or revoked operators license, possession of controlled substance (less than two grams of methamphetamine), possession of controlled substance, second degree (amphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, trafficking in controlled substance (methamphetamine), first degree and trafficking in controlled substance (amphetamine), second degree.
Wright was lodged in the LaRue County Deten-tion Center under $25,000 cash bond. He pleaded not guilty at his April 10 arraignment in LaRue District Court. His preliminary hearing is April 17.
Wright also faces charges of complicity, receiving stolen property and persistent felony offender in Bullitt County.
He has been convicted of various offenses in Bullitt, Jefferson, Breckinridge and Hardin Counties.
