A man accused of a string of burglaries of tobacco retail stores has been indicted by a LaRue County grand jury.
Tracy Shanklin, 44, was charged with third-degree burglary and being a first-degree persistent felony offender.
Shanklin is accused of breaking into Smoketown II on South Lincoln Boulevard Dec. 23, 2009, and cleaning out the stock of Marlboro cigarettes.
Shanklin and an accomplice were implicated in similar burglaries in Louisville. The crime wave began in November 2009 at the Cox’s Smoker’s Outlet on Hubbards Lane in Louisville.
