Several indicted by grand jury

 An Elizabethtown man was indicted April 15 with the sexual abuse of a child.

Henry Thomas Stevens III, 26, formerly of Hodgenville, was charged with first-degree sodomy (victim under 12), a Class A felony, and first-degree sexual abuse (victim under 12).

He is accused of subjecting a child to sexual contact and engaging in a deviate relationship with a child through forcible compulsion.

Bail was set at $250,000 cash only upon condition of no contact with the alleged victim.

Kentucky State Police investigated.

Several others were indicted:

• Donzell D. Johnson (1989) of Hodgenville, was charged with possession of handgun by convicted felon; receiving stolen property; possession of a controlled substance, second degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; and persistent felony offender, second degree.

He is accused of receiving or disposing of various tools belonging to another man, possessing Hydrocodone pills and possessing a .38 caliber Rossi semi-automatic handgun, and on or about Feb. 18.

Bail was set at $50,000 cash only on condition of no contact with alleged victim.

Hodgenville City Police investigated.

• Jessyka A. Huff (1987) of Buffalo, was charged with welfare fraud, over $100.

She is accused of failing to advise the Department for Community Based Services of her correct household circumstances and received $7,945 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits to which she was not legally entitled (from April 1, 2011 to March 30, 2012).

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only.

The Office of the Inspector General investigated.

• Carol Michelle Taylor (1976) of Hodgenville, was charged with welfare fraud, over $100.

She is accused of failing to advise the Department for Community Based Services of her correct household circumstances and received $7,194 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits to which she was not legally entitled (from July 1, 2010 to Aug. 31, 2012).

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only.

The Office of the Inspector General investigated.

• Larry Steven Williams (1950) of Hodgenville, was charged with first-degree criminal mischief.

He is accused of damaging property valued at $1,000 or more on Nov. 29, 2012.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only, on condition of no contact with the alleged victim.

Kentucky State Police investigated.

• Dorothy G. Petrie (1974) of Buffalo, was charged with welfare fraud, over $100.

She is accused of failing to advise the Department for Community Based Services of her correct household circumstances and received $14,274 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits to which she was not legally entitled (from Feb. 1, 2010 to June 30, 2012).

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only.

The Office of the Inspector General investigated.

• James M. Twaddle AKA James Tuaddle (1972) of Columbus, Ohio, was charged with theft by deception $500 or more.

He is accused of taking $2,464.22 from a woman and not completing any work, on or about April 25, 2012.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only upon the condition of no contact with the alleged victim.

The Office of the Inspector General investigated.

• Michael Paul Stallings (1975) of Vine Grove, was charged with theft by unlawful taking.

He is accused of taking an iPad and jewelry valued between $500 and $10,000 from a woman between Nov. 26, 2012 and Dec. 19, 2012.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only upon condition of no contact with alleged victim.

The LaRue County Sheriff’s Department investigated.

• William L. Russell Jr. (1953) of Indianapolis, Ind., was charged with trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces); possession of a controlled substance, second degree; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of prescription not in proper container; and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, first offense.

He is accused of possessing a Glock model 23 handgun while in commission of an offense (trafficking in marijuana), on or about Feb. 23.

Bail was set at $9,500 cash only.

Kentucky State Police investigated.

• Joshua Aaron Murray (1990) of Louisville, was charged with flagrant nonsupport.

He is accused of failing to provide support resulting in an arrearage of $4,180.74 plus additions between March 9, 2011 and March 31, 2013.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only.

The Division of Child Support investigated.

• Leonard Paul Lege Jr. (1985) of Statesville, N.C., was charged with flagrant nonsupport.

He is accused of failing to provide support resulting in an arrearage of $9,861.40 plus additions between Sept. 9, 2009 and March 18, 2013.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash only.

The Division of Child Support investigated.

Arraignment for all those indicted is May 6 in LaRue Circuit Court.

The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only. The person is innocent unless and until proven guilty.
