Yearbooks

Order LCMS yearbooks online at www.jostens.com through Jan. 30, 2013. Students can place orders during lunch periods Nov. 7-9. Free personalization offer ends Nov. 10.

Veterans honored

LaRue County students will honor parents and grandparents who served in the military on Friday, Nov. 9 and Monday, Nov. 12.

Hodgenville Elementary’s program begins at 8:15 a.m. Nov. 9 in the cafeteria. A PowerPoint will be shown with the veteran’s photos. The HES choir will perform.

LaRue County Middle School’s program is 9 a.m. Nov. 9 in the gym.

LaRue County High School’s program is 1 p.m. Nov. 9 in the gym.

Abraham Lincoln Elementary School’s program is the following Monday. Jonathan Carl, pastor at South Fork Baptist Church, will speak to the students during assembly at 8 a.m. Nov. 12.

 

Wee Time

Hodgenville Elementary School will host Wee Time 9-10:30 a.m. Nov. 8. The color is brown. Abraham LincolnElementary School will host the Nov. 15 program and the color is orange.

Wee Time is a free preschool program for ages 2-4 sponsored by Family Resource Centers, Kids Crew Plus and United Way. For more information, call Melissa Pearman at 358-3506 or Machelle Durham at 358-4112.

 

Kindergarten Here I Come – biweekly

“Kindergarten Here I Come” helps students prepare for kindergarten. The free session is 9-10:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at Hodgenville Elementary School. The themes are Johnny Appleseed and colors blue, yellow and purple. The next session is Nov. 28. Parents should attend. KHIC is sponsored by Family Resource Centers, Kids Crew Plus and United Way. Proficiency Reports

LaRue County School Board meetings will be 7 p.m. Nov. 19 – LCHS; Dec. 17 at LCMS; Jan. 21 – ALES; and Feb. 18 – HES. Each school will present its proficiency report at the meeting.

 

LaRue County Reads

Volunteer to tutor a child in reading for one-half hour each week at one of the local schools. Volunteers must attend a short training class. To volunteer or for more information, call Sarah Hornback at the LaRue County Board of Education at 358-8334 or 358-4111.
