The LaRue County Homemakers offer a $400 scholarship available to LaRue County residents graduating from high school this year who plan to earn a degree in Family & Consumer Sciences, Agriculture or related fields; or an adult county resident returning to college, vocational or technical school for any field of study. Application forms are available at the Extension Office (358-3401) or http://ces.ca.uky.edu/larue/FamilyConsumerSciences. Deadline to apply is March 5.
Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation will award six $1,000 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors and one $1,000 scholarship to an adult who is continuing their education at a vocational school or college.
Applicants must be from the Nolin RECC service area and their parents or legal guardians must be a Nolin RECC member whose primary residence is in the Nolin RECC service territory. Adults applying for the continuing education scholarship must be members of Nolin RECC living in the cooperative service area.
Scholarship forms may be obtained from high school guidance counselors, the Nolin RECC office in Elizabethtown and Radcliff, or www.nolinrecc.com. For more information, call Patsy Whitehead at 270-765-6153. Deadline for entry is April 1.
Farm Kids for College
The National Farmers Organization is offering Farm Kids for College scholarships to high school seniors. Planning to pursue an agriculture-related degree from an accredited college or university. Materials must be submitted by March 7. Three winners of $1,000 scholarships will be announced April 15. Beef Cattle Association
The LaRue County Beef Cattle Association will offer two $1,000 college scholarships to graduating high school seniors.
Scholarship applications are available at the LaRue County High School Guidance Counselor’s office and the LaRue County Extension office. Applications must be returned to the LaRue County Extension office no later than 4:30 p.m. April 19. The winners will be notified before the end of the school year.
Scholarship applications will be judged based on financial need, scholarship, and community service.
