Scammers trying to collect funds for officer's family

 The untimely death of a Hodgenville City Police officer has drawn attention from scammers.

Chief Steve Johnson has learned of at least two phone calls soliciting funds for Officer Mark Taulbee's funeral expenses.

No legitimate group is soliciting the public for donations.

"If anyone receives one of these calls, hang up and call dispatch (911) and (provide any information gained from the call)," said Johnson. "We want to find out who is doing this."
