Santa rides the rails at New Haven

Tickets are selling quickly for the Kentucky Railway Museum’s annual Santa Express. The opening day Dec. 6 already is sold out as well as an evening train Dec. 13.

During the train ride, a children’s Christmas story is shared, cookies and hot chocolate are served and Santa walks through the train to visit with passengers,

Upon returning to the station in New Haven, Santa comes into the depot for photos.

The Santa Express runs at 2 p.m. Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14. Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children ages 2-12. Children younger than 2 may ride free with a paying adult.

The evening rides, known as the North Pole Express, also feature the telling of a classic children’s Christmas story and the sounds of the season. Upon arriving at the North Pole, the train will pick up Santa for the trip back to New Haven and a photo opportunities at the station. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas.

The cost is $19 for adults, $14 for children ages 2-12 and free for kids younger than 2.

Departure times are 6 p.m. Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14. Departure times are at 7 p.m. Dec. 5, 12 and 19.
