Reed accepted to West Point

-A A +A

LaRue County High School senior Spenser Reed has been accepted to the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Cadets who enter the academy must do so with a nomination from a U.S. Senator or Congressman, and after completion of the four-year program are commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Reed will report for duty in June and is one of only 1,500 cadets who will be members of the class of 2015. West Point is ranked fourth in Forbes list of best Colleges in the United States and Reed earned his commission because of his impressive academic record, his athletic ability and the well-rounded education he received.
Reed credits his success to God, his family and the many teachers, coaches and community leaders who helped him achieve this life-long goal.
Reed is a member of the LCHS Debate Team and runs cross country/track. He is the son of LaRue District Judge C. Derek Reed and Dara Reed of Magnolia.
