Project Graduation needs donations of gifts, cash

-A A +A

Project Graduation, the drug- and alcohol-free post-graduation celebration, is seeking donations from the community.

LaRue County parents, businesses and civic groups have provided the chaperoned celebration for new grads for 20 years.

This year, more than $20,000 is needed for games, gifts, cash drawings and scholarships for seniors. Prizes and gift certificates appropriate for 17 to 19 year old students are needed.

Donations should be made to LaRue County Project Graduation c/o Treasurer Patsy Newberry, 93 Redbud Dr., Hodgenville, KY 42748. To donate items that are large or cannot be mailed, call or text Project Graduation chairperson Vonna Downs at 270-234-6303 or prize and gift chairperson Kathy Dulak at 270-723-0591.

Items may include anything a student could use in college: laptops, desktops, printers, iPods, I touch, gas cards, laptop desks, refrigerators, gift cards, bean bags, TVs, backpacks, earphones, flash drives, memory cards, microwaves, cameras, dishes, umbrellas, bedding or gift certificates to restaurants.
