A Hodgenville man reported a possible scam to the LaRue County Attorney’s Office Monday.
Charles Edlin received “official notification” that he won a prize in a consumer protection draw. Edlin said he had not entered any sweepstakes.
The letter, which used the return address of a Texas insurance company, advised Edlin he should claim his $50,000 prize within 14 days. Enclosed was a check for $2,700 drawn on a Texas Bank with a phony address.
