Woman charged with criminal possession of forged instrument
Brandy N. Meredith (1982) of Hodgenville was charged with 23 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree by the LaRue County Sheriff’s Office. She was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center under $25,000 bond. She was arraigned Nov. 30 in LaRue District Court. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 14 to determine if enough evidence exists for the case to be heard by a grand jury.
Joseph Whelan (1976) of Hodgenville was charged with one count of first-degree criminal abuse Nov. 27 by Hodgenville City Police. He was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center under $25,000 bond. He was arraigned in LaRue District Court and a preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 14.
Hodgenville City Police are investigating the burglary of a home on Meadow Lane that occurred Friday afternoon. An undetermined amount of jewelry was taken. Anyone who saw a suspicious-looking person walking in the area carrying a pillowcase should call HCP at 358-3013.
Woman charged with making false report
Melinda Lynn Durrett, 20, of Buffalo, was charged Dec. 3 with filing a false report. Durrett allegedly made a call to dispatch saying that a man had attempted to rape her. According to Constable Tim Ford, several officers were involved in tracking down the man. Ford said Durrett admitted to falsifying the story and ripping her own clothing.
She was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center under $50,000 unsecured bond. She will be arraigned Dec. 14 in LaRue District Court.
