Surveyors for the proposed Bluegrass Pipeline uncovered human remains, possibly from an Indian burial, in Hardin County in August.
Tom Droege, media relations director for the natural gas liquids pipeline, said the survey was being done on private property.
“Archeologists engaged a University of Kentucky bioarcheologist who verified the artifact was a small human bone fragment,” said Droege. “It is not uncommon in Kentucky to find cultural artifacts during cultural resource surveys.”
