Fourth-graders in Kathy Milby’s class at Hodgenville Elementary School have been learning about the hatching of baby chicks. The class learned it takes 21 days for the chicks to hatch; however, several of the chicks decided to peck their way out of the shells early over the weekend. Another chick began hatching while the students were in another class. Milby videotaped the hatching (shown on a Smartboard, so they could watch the process. They also are hatching quail eggs.
