Stephanie Rowe heard a racket from the chicken pen at her farm on New Jackson Highway last week. When she looked outside, she saw a hawk had landed on the wire mesh covering the pen.
The hawk proceeded to finish his meal, unmindful of the terrorized hens or the camera used to snap this photo.
He appears to be checking out the rooster weather vane for possibilities of his next meal.
“He was pretty to look at but I hope he doesn’t come back,” Rowe said of the uninvited guest.
