A group of seamstresses who meet during the monthly Open Sew Day at the LaRue County Extension Office have given themselves the name “Nifty Needles.” The group made 50 fabric chair back covers with storage pockets for the students in preschool classes. This gave each classroom more storage space for each student. Front from left, Carrie Lee Kidd, Peggy Edwards, Rebekah Okeson. Others are Martha Childress, Mae Burden, Master Clothing Volunteer Rosa Smith, Judy Bridge, Phyllis Miles, Betty Downey and Rose Cottrell.
