Dow Corning employees presented LaRue County Middle School with a $6,800 check. Dow Corning employee Pam Bowling said the Elizabethtown site has an annual budget from the Dow Corning Foundation and in 2011, designated the dollars to support middle school STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education. Local middle schools were contacted last October and were offered an opportunity to submit requests for their schools. Principal Bob Bright promptly completed his request. LCMS will use their dollars for new science lab equipment and professional teacher development courses. About a third of Dow Corning employees are from LaRue County.
