Five area seniors and three coaches participated in Saturday’s third annual Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Football Classic.
The game, which was played at Louisville St. Xavier, features players from Louisville and surrounding areas against the rest of the state.
Playing in the game representing the Greater Louisville Football Coaches’ Association were Central Hardin’s Corey Dobbs, John Hardin’s Domonick Brown, LaRue County’s Matthew Hornback and Terell Paysen and North Hardin’s Johnny Hopkins.
Nelson County seniors Dylan Beasley and Reed Montgomery were also on the team, which is comprised of players from Bullitt, Hardin, Jefferson, LaRue, Nelson Oldham, Shelby and Spencer counties.
The team was coached by Louisville Atherton’s Kenneth Walker. Louisville Fairdale coach Chris Engstrand, a LaRue County graduate and former North Hardin assistant, coached the running backs.
The Greater Louisville Area team defeated the Kentucky team 9-8.
