A Magnolia man was injured Monday in a three-car crash on Lincoln Parkway.
According to Kentucky State Trooper Chris Berry, a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Scotty Highbaugh, 77, of Sonora, was driving on Lincoln Parkway and attempted to make a left turn onto West Main Street in Hodgenville.
Highbaugh’s vehicle struck a northbound 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix in the driver’s side. The Grand Prix, driven by Barry Eads Jr., 38, of Magnolia, was in the left lane. The impact caused it to spin counterclockwise into the right lane where it struck a 2006 Chevrolet van driven by Travis Monin, 32, in the left rear bumper.
The Grand Prix continued to spin in front of the van before impacting the guardrail. The car’s door could not be opened and Hodgenville/LaRue County firefighters responded to the scene and extracted Eads. The roadway was closed about 20 minutes, Berry said.
Constable Ira Bloyd Jr. assisted with traffic control.
Eads was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by LaRue County EMS.
He was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesperson.
