An Ohio man, accused of murdering his neighbor, was extradited from Kentucky June 1 to stand trial.
Shawn Kortz, 39, of Moraine, Ohio, was housed in the LaRue County Detention Center in March awaiting extradition. Kortz, according to the Dayton Daily News, is accused of beating and strangling to death Michael Hollon, 48, on Sept. 19, then attempting to elude police in a high speed chase before his arrest near Georgetown, Ky.
Before the extradition, Kortz was serving a three-year prison term for fleeing and eluding, and reckless endangerment in Kentucky.
Kortz was arraigned in Montgomery Circuit Court June 7.
