A Hodgenville businessman is expanding his holdings by building a specialty grocery store in Hardin County.
Vernon Detweiller, owner of Bent N Dent in Hodgenville and a discount grocery in southern Wisconsin, and his brother, Perry Detweiller, are developing a 6.5-acre site on U.S. 31-W, south of Lincoln Parkway.
Vernon Detweiller's new store will be "D&D Grocery." It will be about 10,800-square-feet with more than half the floor space devoted to retail sales. It will open in the first quarter of 2011.
