Sometimes having a strong stubborn streak isn’t such a bad thing.
New Haven resident Phillip Nalley’s willful nature has given him the strength to endure a lifetime filled with medical complications following a kidney transplant he received 30 years ago at age 28.
“He has never given up, he has never quit. He has always been determined to make it on his own,” said Theresa Nalley, his wife of 39 years. “No matter how sick he got ... he would get on his crutches and go right back out there.”
