A Munfordville woman was injured just after 1:30 a.m. Oct. 27 when the car she was driving struck a cow.

Tara B. Webb, 24, was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora west on Ky. 3204 near the intersection with Civils Loop when “a large cow walked into the path ... and due to the black color of the animal and the wet conditions of the road (Webb) was unable to stop,” according to the report filed by Hodgenville City Officer Brandon Casey.

Webb was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by private vehicle.

The front end of the vehicle sustained moderate to severe damage.

Chief Steve Johnson said the cow, owned by Wal Hiljie of Elizabethtown, escaped from a trailer in Hodgenville days earlier. The cow had been “hanging out” in a field off Lincoln Boulevard.

Several people had attempted to round up the cow but were unsuccessful.
