Morris honored by CHFS

LaRue County Attorney Dale M. Morris was honored by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services as being one of the state’s top-performing child support contracting officials.

Morris’ office was the 10th top performer in the state, according to a press release.

Assisting Morris are:

Lori Kinkead, assistant county attorney. Kinkead assists with representing cases to establish child support obligations and enforce payment on cases judicially.

Machelle McDowell is a case manager for paternity and child support establishment.

Melissa McDowell is a case manager for enforcement, foster care and interstate cases.

Lesa DeWitt supervises the office, handles enforcement issues amd felony non-support cases.

The winners were announced at the Child Support Conference in Lexington earlier this fall. Sponsored by the Child Support Enforcement Program, it was the first such conference in 10 years.

The CSE, part of the CHFS Department for Income Support, administers child support enforcement jointly with local contracting officials for all 120 counties.

Contracting officials are ranked based on their paternity establishments, the establishment of child support orders, child support collections and arrearage (past due) collections.
