Marion County native dies in Afghanistan

Former Marine was student at EKU

Sgt. Randolph A. Sigley, 28, a 2000 Marion County High School graduate, died Sunday morning at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.

Sigley was serving in Afghanistan with a Kentucky National Guard Unit based in Richmond, according to his stepfather, Al Hardin of Lebanon.

He is survived by his mother, Rhonda Hardin.

According to Sigley’s Facebook page, he was a former U.S. Marine. He was a student at Eastern Kentucky University, where he was pursuing a major in Homeland Security and a minor in environmental health sciences.

Hardin said little information had been released at this time.
