A Bardstown man is suspected of forging thousands of dollars in checks and selling jewelry from a Hodgenville burglary.
Stuart Brent Kirtley, 30, was arrested Tuesday, April 16 after a Cox’s Creek man complained his checkbook had been stolen the day before.
According to a press release, Bardstown Police discovered that 12 checks had been forged. Eleven were cashed for a total of $4,255.
Bardstown Police recovered the stolen checkbook.
But in the course of their investigation, they discovered Kirtley may have been connected with a second theft.
