A Hodgenville man was charged Oct. 20 with two counts of second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree terroristic threatening.
Demetric Lee, 21, allegedly kicked in the door and entered an apartment on Phillips Lane about 3 a.m.
A female, described as an “acquaintance” of Lee’s, said she did not hear the door being broken but woke to find Lee standing over her. She told him to get out but he allegedly came back later and told the female he would “shoot and kill her and all her family” if she told police, according to Chief Steve Johnson.
Lee’s cell phone was recovered in the woman’s bedroom, Johnson said.
Officers attempted to make contact with Lee at a nearby apartment, but he would not answer the door, Johnson said. They obtained a search warrant and Lee’s family “got him to open the door.”
Lee was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center under $25,000. He will be arraigned Oct. 24 in LaRue District Court. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.
