A Hodgenville man was charged with DUI June 28 after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in Hardin County.
Jacob Daniel Barnes, 26, was involved in a collision on Hawkins Drive in Elizabethtown, according to Officer Virgil Willoughby of Elizabethtown City Police. The Dodge van he was driving allegedly struck another vehicle, causing minor damage. Barnes continued driving into LaRue County where he was spotted by Constable Jeff Metcalf near the Leafdale community. Metcalf followed the vehicle to Buffalo where he was joined by Deputies Russell McCoy and Matt Darst.
Barnes was also charged with operating on suspended or revoked operator’s license. Results of a urine test are pending in regards to the DUI charge.
Willoughby said Barnes will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident in Hardin District Court.
Barnes was lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center and will be arraigned July 13 in LaRue District Court.
