The Main Street organization will be self-funded at least until its current contract with the state is renewed.
Mayor Terry Cruse told members of Hodgenville City Council that he wants the volunteer group to “become more self-sufficient.” He said the city would not pay the agreed-upon amount of $1,250 monthly to Main Street until the recertification contract is signed.
And that could take at least three months, according to Director Celia McDonald.
