Police file charges over 20 stolen auto batteries

Constable Tim Ford, Sheriff Bobby Shoffner and Deputies Russell McCoy and Larry Clopton apprehended a Green County man Monday on Sandridge Road outside Mount Sherman. Derrick Harris, 31, of Hwy. 566, Magnolia, was wanted on charges of first-degree fleeing and evading and theft by unlawful taking under $500.

According to Green County Sheriff Tim Stumph, Harris allegedly took 20 used batteries valued at $180 from Green County Auto Supply.
