I urge you to find and highlight the individuals who volunteered to beautify the downtown area Aug. 18. They were planting flowers and cleaning up.
They appeared to consist mainly of “The Gang,” a local group of retirees that meet for lunch and fellowship regularly, plus some others. I hesitate to mention names for fear of leaving someone out, although Paul Orr did threaten me with potting soil when I asked if he had any supervision.
I appreciate them taking their time to perform this service.
I am sure none of them did this for recognition, but for the love of and concern for their community.
(Editor’s note: The volunteers were members of Hodgenville Main Street.)
