A Louisville man has been charged with second-degree forgery, second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument and theft by unlawful taking or disposition.
Derrick (AKA Derek) Saunders, 27, allegedly attempted to cash a forged payroll check on the account of Sunrise Manor Nursing Home last September.
According to Chief Deputy Russell McCoy, Saunders showed his driver’s license as proof of identity when he cashed the forged check at a local convenience store in the amount of $384.12.
