More than 30 high school students from four states will participate in the Western Kentucky University Department of Agriculture’s Agriculture Students Striving for Effective Tomorrows Conference in June.

The five-day conference is designed for high school students who have completed their junior year, excel in academics and extracurricular activities, are leaders in their community, and are interested in furthering knowledge and education in the agriculture industry. The conference will consist of leadership, communication and social development activities; tips for applying, entering, interacting and making the most of a college experience; and create awareness of the opportunities within the agriculture industry.

Local students include Joshua Dennis and Micah Farmer, both of Upton; Caleb Thomas and Elijah Ernst, both of Buffalo; and Jessica Brooks of Glendale.
