The LaRue County Relay for Life County Committee received notice last week that Fort Knox Federal Credit Union will once again return as the Survivor sponsor for this year’s Relay for Life which will be held Friday, May 17 at Hodgenville Elementary School.
“This $1,000 level commitment enables us to do a bit more for our survivors,” said Survivor chair Kathy Ross. “Their sponsorship is so valuable and they send a great group to assist our survivors before and during the Survivor Ceremony. We are thankful that they have seen fit to honor our survivors in this way.”
In addition, Magnolia Bank committed to the Remember level of $500 and Nationwide Uniform (Fechheimer) pledged $1,000 at the Celebrate level. “Their sponsorship once again proves how important fighting cancer and finding a cure is to our local community,” said County Committee chair Regina Childress.
The deadline for reserving a seat at the LaRue County Survivor Dinner is Friday, March 15. A delicious meal is planned and Sister Rita Jerrell, a Hero of Hope, will speak. Photos will be taken and survivors may register in advance for this year’s Relay Survivor Walk. Survivor meals are at no cost and additional attendees are $5 each. For more information, call Kathy Ross at 234-3309.
To date, 11 teams have signed on for LaRue County Relay for Life and have raised more than $21,000 of their $57,000 goal. Many teams have fundraising activities planned such as a bunco night, bake sales, barbeques, luncheons and auctions. For a more detailed list of activities, see the Relay for Life fundraising section in this newspaper.
