Girls, get out your great-grandma’s dress and bonnet. Fellas, get out your grandpa’s suspenders and pioneer shirt.
It’s time to choose a new Little Abe, Little Sarah and best-costumed family for Lincoln Days.
The main events for the annual festival are Oct. 2-3. However, there will be plenty of entertainment Sunday with baby contests beginning at 2 p.m., followed by Little Abe, Little Sarah and costumed family contests.
It’s too late to register for the Abe, Sarah and family contests, however, babies may register through Saturday, Sept. 25
Entry fee is $10. Pick up an application at the LaRue County Chamber of Commerce, download at www.lincolndays.org or call the Lincoln Days office at 358-8710.
The baby contest begins at 2 p.m. The events are open to any child within the age range.
The Lincoln Days Art Show and reception begins at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Lincoln Museum Community Room. Artwork will be displayed through Oct. 3.
One piece will be selected as People’s Choice and residents are invited to vote on their favorite. Another piece will be selected for addition to the Lincoln Collection of art.
The reception is sponsored by LaRue Fiscal Court and catered by Crosstown Homemakers.
There is no charge for the show or reception.
