Curious George books inspire program Saturday

By The Staff

Seventy years ago, a curious little monkey was born.

In 1941, Margret and H.A. Rey published the first of the Curious George books for children. The monkey and his pal, “The Man with the Yellow Hat,” have appeared in numerous renditions including a movie, cartoons and video games.

The LaRue County Public Library and Lincolns Loft will celebrate the occasion with a “Curiosity Day” Saturday.

George’s birthday party will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the library with various activities, including storytelling, for children. George will make an appearance. The event ends at noon.
