LETTER: Sen. Gibson says 'goodbye' to LaRue

 Friends, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve the good people of LaRue County.

Every 10 years, it is our Constitutional duty to realign voting districts according to the populations confirmed by the census. This requires the General Assembly to establish the “one man, one vote” rule. Due to population changes within my district, the 5th State Senatorial District now includes Butler County in addition to Grayson, Hancock, Hart, and Meade counties. (The final congressional district lines are still being discussed between the chambers.) You will now be represented by Sen. David Givens (R-Greensburg) of the 9th Senate District, along with Adair, Barren, Edmonson, Green, Metcalfe and Monroe counties. My good friend looks forward to serving the needs of LaRue County. Although it saddens me to no longer represent you, I leave you with the good leadership of a good man. We will work together to ensure a smooth transition and I will help him become familiar with the local issues.
