Legal Aid Clinics offered

 The Legal Aid Society, 416 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., Louisville, will hold free legal clinics in October, November and December. Each session will be held at that location unless otherwise stated.

A reservation for each clinic is required. Contact the Legal Aid Society at 502-584-1254 to make your reservation.

Divorce Clinic– 9:30 a.m. Jan. 15, Feb. 13 and March 12. Clients will receive assistance from attorneys in filling out all of the necessary paperwork to file for a divorce.

Foreclosure Clinic– 11 a.m. Jan. 6; 4 p.m. Jan. 8; 11 a.m. Jan. 13; 4 p.m. Jan. 15; 11 a.m. Jan. 20; 4 p.m. Jan. 22; 11 a.m. Jan. 27; 4 p.m. Jan. 29; 11 a.m. Feb. 3; 4 p.m. Feb. 5; 11 a.m. Feb. 10; 4 p.m. Feb. 12; 11 a.m. Feb. 17; 4 p.m. Feb. 19; 11 a.m. Feb. 24; 4 p.m. Feb. 26; 11 a.m. March 3; 4 p.m. March 5; 11 a.m. March 10; 4 p.m. March 12; 11 a.m. March 17; 4 p.m. March 19; 11 a.m. March 24 4 p.m. March 26; and 11 a.m. March 31. Attorneys will be on hand to answer questions about foreclosures and provide advice on alternatives to foreclosure. Clients are provided with the forms necessary to file a claim, and an attorney will review completed claims.

Expungement Clinic– 1 p.m. Jan. 22, Feb. 12 and March 12, Louisville Free Public Library Main Branch (301 York St.), South Wing, 2nd Floor. An attorney will be on hand to discuss the expungement process and which charges can be expunged. Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their criminal record which shows the disposition of each case. A copy of the record may be obtained from Court Archives located in the basement of the Old Jail Building at 514 West Liberty Street in Louisville.

Small Claims– 1 p.m. Jan. 21, Feb. 11 and March 18. Clients are provided with the forms necessary to file a claim, and an attorney will review completed claims.

Debt Collection Defense– 3 p.m. Jan. 21, Feb. 18 and March 18. The presenter will discuss what to do if you are contacted or sued by a debt collector and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. No reservation needed.
