Two days after returning from spring break, the LaRue County School System is on a one-hour delay this morning because of snow. Some areas received a half inch or more.
The overnight snowfall is creating scattered slick spots, particularly on lightly traveled rural roads and bridges or overpasses. Warm ground temperatures protected some streets and parking lots from the impact of the April snow showers. If your vehicle is parked outside, allow extra time to clear all the windows before heading for work or school.
All schools in the district will open one hour later than normal today. Schools will dismiss at their regular time.
The forecast calls for temperatures moving into the low 40s today, which should clear any hazardous remains from the snowfall.
