A LaRue County Detention Center inmate was injured April 9 while working with a state road crew.
Daniel Hargett, 30, of Pendleton County, suffered minor cuts and a puncture wound to his chin when he was struck by a falling tree, according to LaRue County Jailer Johnny Cottrill.
Hargett was working with the crew, cutting down trees, on the Lincoln Parkway connector road near Hodgenville Elementary School, when a tree fell on top of another tree. The second tree “flew up” and hit him in the face.
