The LaRue County High School baseball team will host a unique tournament Friday and Saturday. Only wooden bats will be used.

The KHSAA allows high school teams to use aluminum bats but in this case, each team will receive wooden bats to the round-robin event.

Somerset, DeSales and Adair County will visit Hodgenville for the Wooden Bat Classic, sponsored by Nall's Specialized Healing.

LCHS is hosting the event for the first time although the Hawks have participated in similar wooden bat events at other locations.

The tournament gets under way Friday evening with LaRue facing DeSales at 6 p.m. Somerset and Adair play in the late game, which is set to start at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the Hawks meet Somerset at 11 a.m. followed by Somerset-DeSales action at 1:30 p.m. Adair faces DeSales at 4 p.m. Saturday and LaRue faces Adair in Saturday's final at 6:30 p.m.
