The recent ice storm has forced the immediate closure of the LaRue County Environmental Education & Research Center on Leafdale Road near Hodgenville, according to a release by Bob Sims, Director of Community Development.
Downed trees and hanging limbs present a tremendous hazard to the public along the forest walking trails.
Sims stated that many other public safety priorities are ranked far ahead of the park cleanup for LaRue County work crews. The park closure could continue for several weeks as county crews see to the needs and safety of citizens.
