LaRue baseball team advances in tournament

LaRue County opened its 2009 baseball postseason the same way the team began the regular season - with a one-sided victory over Caverna.

LaRue County knocked off Caverna 7-0 as the 18th District Tournament opened in Horse Cave. The third win over Caverna this season, the victory also earned the Hawks a spot in the district championship game and a berth in next week's 5th Region Tournament.

The Hawks will play again at 6 p.m. CDT Tuesday against the winner of Monday's late game between Green County and Hart County.
