Unemployment rates rose in 96 Kentucky counties between October 2012 and October 2013, while 14 county rates decreased and 10 stayed the same, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
LaRue County’s rate jumped to 7.1 percent in October from 6.3 percent a year ago. The rate was 6.9 percent in September 2013.
Of an estimated 6,723 civilian labor force, 6,244 people were employed.
