Are you ready?

 You read that headline correctly.

The LaRue County Fair is early – very early – this year. The annual Fair Book can be found inside this issue of The LaRue County Herald News.

Festivities begin Friday, June 14 with a horse show; and Saturday, June 15 with a Western Night and Cowboy Sports – which promises to be a lot of fun.

New this year: A spaghetti-eating contest sponsored by Pizza Zone. A date has not been set.

The carnival arrives Monday, June 17. A new Miss LaRue County Fair will be crowned that evening. Other contests are scheduled for the rest of the week.

We’d love to see locals wearing those crowns this year – so make sure to pick up applications at any of these Hodgenville locations: The LaRue County Herald News, 40 Shawnee Dr.; the LaRue County Extension office, 807 Old E’town Road; and Vanity Hair, 111 West Main St. For more information, call the Fair office at 234-3313 or Sandy Bell at 358-8166.
