The LaRue County School Board voted Monday to place laptop computers in the hands of each LaRue County High School student.
The Laptop Initiative failed to pass in March after Superintendent Sam Sanders requested a unanimous vote “to bring the board together.” Four board members voted in favor with Norbert Skees casting a “no” vote.
At the March meeting, Skees read a statement giving reasons for his vote against the initiative. They included budget and technology concerns, liability issues and a possible tie to childhood obesity.
